California Poppy (Escholzia californica and mexicana) is a powerful nervine that can help soothe anxiety and panic and ease trauma responses when used in low doses. It can also be used to take the edge off of pain and in higher doses it can help you to fall asleep and sleep more deeply. California poppy is not a true poppy so it is not habit forming and will not give a false positive on drug tests.*

California poppies grow wildly and abundantly in our field and are they are the first flowering plants that we harvest in the late Spring. Bees and bumble bees enjoy the wide open flowers and you can often see them covered in orange pollen from these poppies. We use the whole plant- the root, stems, leaves, flowers and seed heads- because we believe this makes for the strongest tincture.
